The Niagara Falls Girls Hockey Association formed in 1993 with the goal of promoting and fostering amateur ice hockey for girls of all ages in and around Niagara Falls. With the participation and cooperation of parents, volunteers and sponsors, we have grown to more than 260 players. Further growth is expected, as female hockey has been dubbed "the fastest growing sport in Canada today."
Our objective is to provide an opportunity for all girls in the Niagara
Region regardless of age or ability to enjoy the sportsmanship,
skills, development and social interaction of hockey…our national game!
Get Involved
We need your participation! It is only through the interest and enthusiasm of the players, parents and volunteers that our girls will be rewarded with the fun and learning that comes from playing the game of hockey!
For the 2009/2010 season we are offering novice, atom, peewee, bantam and midget teams in the House League program
for girls aged six to seventeen. We hope to offer an intermediate team for players 18-21. The season runs from mid-September to mid-March
and will include about two hours of ice time per week.
"Rapids" Traveling Teams
During the 2008/2009 season, the NFGHA iced Atom B, Peewee A, Peewee B, Bantam A, Midget
AA and Midget A teams in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey
League (LLFHL). Rapids Teams were extremely successful, winning a number of medals
throughout tournaments in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League, and sending three teams to the Provincials Atom B Team - who won the GOLD medal, Midget AA Team and Peewee A Team - who was a semi-finalist.
